  2. Now, doesn't Ida sound like a nice lady. I thought I'd check her blog out to see if I understood the context for why she "had a good laugh" at my photo. Yep, the usual -- arrogant paranoid leftist control freak. I have to add that, as an Aussie, she's rare. Most I've met are really nice people and I dare say similar to Americans in their independent and dyanamic character.

The photo in question was one of many I had taken with my wife while on my honeymoon. It was night and the New York Stock Exchange was lit for Christmas with a giant American flag. I suppose it could be seen as somewhat kitsch but I thought it looked kind of cool -- not because it was my country's flag or because it happened to adorn a symbol of capitalism, I just thought it looked cool. ('Guess ya had to be there). Anyone who has viewed my site could probably acknowledge that I can take a decent art photo occasionally-- nothing grand but surly beyond the vision this lady has of Americans as crude red-necks with shotguns and selfish materialist lifestyles (the "open-minded" left doesn't get far beyond such caricatures).

Anyway, I see plenty of absurd left-wing symbols and tirades every week that I find pathetic but I'm a "classical liberal" / libertarian so when I see such things I typically roll my eyes up and realize that I'm just seeing another example of spoiled people who are ultimately just angry that their view and mold for the world does not always manifest as they'd demand.

Now, I'm going to be a little mean-spirited myself and counter by simply posting a link here to this lady's photo. Trust me, you'll "have a good laugh."

Love, Peace, and Sanity....and,as I always like to note to the rabble of Stalinists out there; Leave us alone, thank you.
